The structure is relevant for all relay actions when the described hand has shown an explicit (or implicit) structure. Examples:

2♦	Relay, entry point
2♥	Reverser. Exactly 4 cards in higher suit, 5+ cards in lower
2♠	5-5		Relay back to first column.
2NT	High shortage	Relay
