• 3C = 5 card suit, 8-11 HCP
• 3D = weak hand, weak suit (6 cards)
• 3H = weak hand, good suit (for example KQJxxx and out)
• 3S = good hand, weak suit (for example Axxxxx x KQx xx)
• 3NT = good hand, good suit (for example KQxxxx x KQx xxx)
